About Project

Surface Print Source is a Philadelphia-based design firm specializing in print design and unique artwork production for the fashion and interiors industries. In addition, they provide clients the opportunity to stand out from the crowd with their distinctive designs.

Surface Print Source approached us in quest of a complete makeover of their online store with a gorgeous, modern, and conversion-optimized design. While working on, our design team created a completely redesigned, brand-integrated homepage complete with individual customer banners.


The Challenges

Multi-Select Mega Menu

In addition to being one of the most important navigational tools, the menu has a significant impact on the website’s usability and capacity to convert visitors. To make the user’s navigation more straightforward, the client requested a multi-faceted mega menu. As a result, customers may choose from various alternatives to locate the exact thing they want by using the mega menu.

Boards + Pin

They needed a board + pin functionality to allow customers to construct their boards from stored pins they had previously collected. It also has to have many features, such as drag-and-drop and the option to keep or share pdf files for future use.

Editable Historical Boards

The ability to save past data on a website is highly beneficial for returning consumers. However, the client wanted consumers to be able to keep all stored boards, pins, and pdf files and be able to change them if necessary, which was a challenging task to accomplish.

Our Solution

Multi-Select Mega Menu

Because Surface Print Source intended to expand the new site’s functionality and enhance the customer experience, they incorporated several sophisticated development elements into its project with WebDesk Solution. Like many other online retailers, Surface Print Source sells a wide range of items, making navigation a critical component of their eCommerce website. However, this complicates classification at the same time that the demand for accessible and simple navigation persists.

Because it was designed with future development in mind, the mega menu can be customized entirely by the back-end admin. In addition to gathering data from the private app, it shows results based on the option chosen by the end-user. Additionally, it displays selected criteria on the results page so that consumers can change their choices.

Boards + Pin

The project required considerable, sophisticated development to guarantee that every component was correctly integrated and effective since this website would be given a completely new bespoke look. Customers can save collections of preferred products to their user accounts as pins, indicating interest but not necessarily intended to buy immediately. Offering pins is a great approach to decrease shopping cart abandonment and close sales from customers who have shown interest but didn’t buy. A customer may add to the pin, delete from the pin, and view all products added to the pin from my board + pins. All pinned goods will have a distinctive pin icon color in the product list to distinguish between pinned and unpinned goods.

Customers can formulate a board from chosen pins by dragging and dropping pins from “create board” under My Boards + Pins. A customer can also edit the canvas’s title, size, style, and orientation and email the produced board in pdf format or store it to their board history for later use. Board history, under My Boards + Pins, is where one may find the stored board history.

Editable Historical Boards

The option to save boards allows consumers to construct a list of items they aren’t ready to buy now but want to acquire in the future. The ability to save boards makes it unnecessary for customers to utilize the shopping basket for rapid recall by providing an easy way to categorize the goods they want. In addition, the option to edit such stored boards was incorporated in the scope to improve user experience. A customer can spend a long time creating a board and setting it up precisely how they want it, but the inability to make changes to it could be a deal-breaker. Surface Print Surface intends to give consumers another incredible customized option to take their experience to the next level.


Product Detail Pop Up

Each product result displays a pop-up; all products have an SKU, a link to the item description, a pin option, and an add to cart function. When a consumer clicks on the Item description, a pop-up window appears with more information about the selected product with pricing and an enlarged preview.

Product Filtering

The truth is that just a tiny percentage of Internet customers enter a store knowing exactly what they want. In fact, according to one survey, just 30% of internet buyers start their visit with a search. The majority are “just browsing,” learning about what’s available so they can weigh their alternatives. Product filtering allows your visitors to focus on the specific product they’re seeking while also discovering goods that may be of interest to them based on particular characteristics. This is where product filtering may be pretty valuable. Filters, when used correctly, may help buyers sift through hundreds of products to find the ones that best suit their requirements and interests. Filtering may enhance a store’s customer experience, increase product views, and eventually improve conversions. Product filtering can significantly boost revenue. Webdesk Solutions implemented custom code to enhance their website’s product search filter capabilities to promote client engagement.

In addition, we synchronized all product data with a custom dashboard to develop Shop the Collections, a multi-filter dynamic collection selection menu.

Shift4Shop is one of the most well-known eCommerce software systems, with over 20 years of experience and everything one needs to launch a successful online store. Because the project’s scope requires more functionalities than native Shift4Shop can supply, WebDesk solution used coding to develop new designs and functionalities to improve the store’s functionality. Webdesk solution custom-created a few features, such as Top Reports + News as Shift4Shop does not provide this functionality natively.

The redesigned site was significantly more contemporary and conversion-optimized, with featured and popular elements prominently on the website. We also designed a navigation menu towards the top of the new site to browse their collections based on their needs.

The overhauled homepage also included new banners that the client may personalize with graphics to promote items depending on seasonality, relevancy, or release date. Surface Print Source also received a new sophisticated menu from our design team, which cleanly and categorizes their pervasive collection selection.
