Which New York industries do you build Magento stores for?
Our New York Magento client base concentrates in five industries: B2B industrial distribution (Long Island and Queens), fashion and apparel wholesale (Manhattan Garment District and 7th Avenue showrooms), specialty retail including camera and AV (Camera Source is one of ours), manufacturing and industrial supply (Westchester, LI), and building materials. We’ve also built Magento stores for beauty and personal care DTC brands, food and beverage, and multi-brand DTC operators running Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce.
Are your Magento stores compliant with the NY SHIELD Act?
Yes. The NY SHIELD Act (amended December 2024) requires reasonable safeguards for New York residents’ private information plus 30-day breach notification. Our Magento builds include encrypted PII at rest, role-based admin access, Magento 2 security patch cadence, regular access audits, and a documented incident response plan compatible with the 30-day notification window. For Magento merchants holding PCI data, we layer in PCI DSS controls on top.
Do you provide Magento support across NY/NJ/CT and Long Island?
Yes. Our New York-based managed Magento support covers stores anywhere in NY, NJ, CT, and Long Island. The standard plan includes Magento security patches (Adobe quarterly releases), uptime and performance monitoring, bug triage with a documented SLA, and quarterly health audits. Compressor World – a Long Island B2B industrial distributor – is one of our long-running managed-support clients. Plans start at around $8K USD per year.
What’s the difference between Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce Cloud?
Magento Open Source is the free, self-hosted edition (formerly Magento Community) – you bring the hosting, you manage the security patches yourself, and you have no built-in B2B or page-builder features. Adobe Commerce is the paid edition (formerly Magento Commerce / Magento Enterprise) and includes B2B features, advanced staging, content staging, and Adobe Commerce Cloud adds managed hosting on AWS via Fastly. New York merchants typically pick Open Source when revenue is under $5M GMV and Adobe Commerce or Cloud above that. We help you match the edition to your roadmap.
We’re stuck on Magento 1. How urgent is migrating in 2026?
Urgent. Magento 1 hit end-of-life in June 2020 – no security patches from Adobe, no PCI compliance path forward, and most Magento extension vendors stopped supporting it years ago. If you’re still on Magento 1 in 2026, you’re exposed on three fronts: security, PCI, and SEO. We typically migrate from Magento 1 to Magento 2 (or directly to Adobe Commerce / Adobe Commerce Cloud) in 12–18 weeks with full URL redirect mapping so you don’t lose ranking equity. Camera Source and Compressor World are two New York merchants we’ve migrated.
Should we use Hyvä or stay on Luma for our New York Magento store?
For most new builds and most Luma stores we audit, Hyvä is now the right answer. Hyvä is a modern Magento 2 storefront framework that replaces the Luma front-end with a far lighter Tailwind-and-Alpine stack – typical results are 2–4× faster Core Web Vitals scores and ~70% less front-end JavaScript. New York merchants with traffic-heavy stores (B2B catalogues, high-SKU retail, mobile-heavy DTC) see the biggest ROI. The exceptions: stores with deep Luma-only third-party integrations that can’t be ported, and stores about to migrate to Adobe Commerce Cloud where the Hyvä work should be planned into the migration.
Can you take over Magento support from another agency?
Yes. About a third of our Magento support engagements start as agency takeovers. The process: a one-week Magento health audit (security posture, patch level, performance, code-quality, third-party module risk), a documented handover from your current agency, a 30-day stabilisation period, then steady-state managed support. We don’t require code rewrites to take over – most takeovers stay on the existing codebase and we improve it incrementally.
How much does a Magento store from WebDesk Solution cost in New York?
Pricing depends on scope. A Magento Open Source store with a stock theme and standard integrations runs $5K–$15K USD over 8–12 weeks. A custom Magento 2 build with Hyvä, custom integrations, and CRO baked in runs $15K–$40K USD over 12–18 weeks. Enterprise Adobe Commerce or B2B builds run $40K–$120K USD over 16–24 weeks. Adobe Commerce Cloud builds with multi-region, multi-currency, or headless storefronts are quoted custom. Annual managed support runs $8K–$35K USD per year depending on store size and SLA tier.
