Overview

In the upscale neighborhood of Chestnut Hill, nestled within a boutique spa experience, lives the digital storefront of CURE de Repos. This isn’t your typical skincare brand. Since 2016, CURE de Repos has fused luxury with clean beauty, offering everything from vegan serums and soothing bath salts to candles and body oils—each product embodying wellness, purity, and high-end elegance. But as their product line expanded and the market evolved, their Shopify 1.0 store began to show its age. It struggled to deliver the premium digital experience that matched the luxury in-store service Chrissy and her team were known for.

Chrissy, the founder, approached WebDesk Solution not just for a redesign—but for a reinvention. She needed a modern storefront that reflected her brand’s sophistication, offered seamless customer journeys, handled booking with real-time accuracy, and allowed exclusive professional clients secure access to premium products and training. And that’s exactly what we set out to deliver.

Approach

When Chrissy reached out, she didn’t just want a new website—she wanted clarity, control, and a digital experience that mirrored her physical boutique. She had feature requests, design ideas, and a genuine desire to stand out in a highly competitive skincare market.

WebDesk Solution’s approach began with a deep-dive discovery call led by our strategist, Daniel, who walked Chrissy through each functional requirement and offered strategic clarity around key technical improvements. From implementing an immersive homepage video section to reworking her disorganized collections, we didn’t just address design—we tackled structural inefficiencies head-on.

Chrissy had no proper data grouping with Shopify collections, which meant customers couldn’t browse intuitively. She was also losing credibility due to an outdated booking system that didn’t reflect real availability. And she wanted to create a gated section of her site, “Studio D’Education,” for verified skincare professionals—a task requiring careful UX planning and back-end tagging.

Our team delivered a plan that balanced new development, third-party app integration, Shopify 2.0 migration, and intuitive UI/UX enhancements—all executed with clean code, customer empathy, and high-touch collaboration.

Challenges

1. Outdated Theme, Limited Flexibility – A Platform Holding the Brand Back

CURE de Repos’s digital storefront was running on the outdated Shopify 1.0 theme. This version lacked modern performance features, responsive customization options, and support for modular content blocks. As the business grew, this rigid theme became a major obstacle, limiting how Chrissy could merchandise her products, update content, or offer dynamic experiences across different devices. Every update required custom coding, increasing maintenance costs and the risk of breaking essential features. The challenge wasn’t just cosmetic—it affected page load times, conversion flows, and overall user engagement. Chrissy needed more than a redesign; she needed a complete architectural upgrade to keep pace with evolving digital expectations.

2. Disjointed Product & Collection Data – A Maze of Misaligned Inventory

The product collection structure on the site had become disorganized over time. Many items were either ungrouped or placed into irrelevant categories, resulting in a confusing shopping journey. Some collections included dozens of products with no common theme, while others were left empty. This chaotic structure made it hard for users to discover specific products, undermining both SEO performance and conversion potential. Worse, Chrissy had limited ability to promote curated collections or feature seasonal campaigns. Without a clean data taxonomy, both site navigation and backend merchandising were suffering, causing operational inefficiencies and customer frustration.

3. Broken Booking System – High-Touch Services, Low-Tech Tools

The in-studio spa and facial treatments were a core part of the CURE de Repos brand. However, the booking system on the Shopify store did not accurately reflect real-time service availability. New services were often not listed, existing time slots were not updated, and double-bookings occurred regularly. This led to scheduling conflicts and unhappy clients. The system was static and disconnected from actual spa operations, requiring manual coordination. For a brand promising a serene, seamless customer journey, this flaw in user experience created friction and risked damaging its reputation. An automated, real-time solution was urgently needed to restore customer trust.

4. Member-Only Gated Content – Securing Professional Access Without Friction

CURE de Repos wanted to provide exclusive access to their “Studio D’Education” collection for verified professional skincare specialists. However, they had no system in place for secure registration, validation, or access control. The challenge was two-fold: they needed a secure verification process to ensure only licensed professionals gained access, and they needed a way to manage this through Shopify without exposing this content to regular shoppers. The stakes were high because these products were reserved for trained professionals, and improper access could compromise the brand’s integrity. At the same time, the admin team needed a frictionless way to approve, tag, and onboard users at scale.

Solutions

1. Full Migration & UI/UX Redesign on Shopify 2.0 – Rebuilding the Storefront with Elegance and Power

To overcome the outdated limitations of Shopify 1.0, we migrated the entire site to Shopify 2.0 using the modern Dawn theme. This allowed for the use of dynamic blocks, performance enhancements, and app blocks that integrated seamlessly with the storefront. The redesign embraced the brand’s luxury essence, featuring elegant typography, minimalist color palettes, and responsive layout grids. Key enhancements included:

2. Data Restructuring – Making Product Discovery Frictionless

We conducted a full audit of all existing products and their metadata, identifying gaps, duplicates, and misclassified items. From there, we designed a clean product-to-collection taxonomy aligned with how customers shop and how the business promotes. New collections were created for thematic curation—like self-care rituals or seasonal sets—while unused or irrelevant collections were removed with proper 301 redirects to maintain SEO equity. Each product was tagged with filters and grouped into meaningful collections. This not only improved on-site navigation but also gave Chrissy’s team better backend tools for inventory planning and campaign management.

3. Booking Integration with Real-Time Accuracy – Powered by JoinBlvd

To resolve the booking bottleneck, we implemented JoinBlvd—a robust third-party scheduling solution. It was embedded directly into the Shopify store and synchronized in real time with service offerings. Customers could now browse available facial and spa treatments, view current openings, and book appointments that fit their schedules. The system reduced administrative overhead and eliminated double-bookings. Chrissy’s team could update services, availability, and pricing directly from the JoinBlvd dashboard. Most importantly, it restored trust in the booking process, aligning the online experience with the brand’s high-end, service-driven ethos.

4. Secure Professional Access – Custom Tag-Based Gating System

To meet the need for exclusive access, we built a custom flow using Shopify’s customer tagging capabilities combined with a third-party form builder. Professionals applied via a dedicated registration form, submitting their licenses and credentials. Once reviewed by the admin, users were tagged with “Professional,” which granted them automatic access to the hidden “Studio D’Education” collection. This collection included gated content, training products, and exclusive SKUs not available to the public. We also created class-type products that could only be seen and purchased by tagged professionals. The result was a secure, frictionless experience that served both administrative control and elite customer segmentation.

This wasn’t just a redesign—it was a digital evolution for CURE de Repos. WebDesk Solution took a fragmented, outdated Shopify 1.0 store and transformed it into a performance-optimized, visually luxurious Shopify 2.0 experience tailored for both end-customers and professionals.

By rethinking architecture, restructuring data, and aligning user experience with business goals, we helped Chrissy reclaim competitive ground, boost revenue, and elevate brand perception. The result? A future-ready store built for scale, elegance, and personalization.
